Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day!

Today one of my favorite blogs, Sew, Mama, Sew is hosting a giveaway day. Basically a bunch of blogs (including yours truly) are offering up all sorts of goodies. It is a fantastic way to introduce yourself to some new blogs and win some awesome prizes. I am always amazed by the generosity of the quilting/crafting community. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to give this away.

    I am horrible at making my own plans for quilts, so I am still mainly copying and learning from others. Hopefully soon I will finally break out of my comfort zone and design something all my own :)

    I love reading blogs because I learn so much - whether it be a new technique, a new color combo, or a new pattern or tool. Everyone has different experiences and is exposed to different stuff. I love benefiting from that!

    I like the inspiration, the tutorials and the pretty pictures! Blogs have taught me so much about quilting and given me ideas (and the courage) that I never would have thought of without them. Plus they're really good for procrastination!

    I am so behind the times! I'm so glad you posted this because now I can follow your amazingness in blog form, since I already know how awesome you are in real life!
    I love reading quilting blogs because I one day want to be as good as the real quilters....I've only done t-shirt quilts which I consider kind of cheater quilts. Someday I'll do all the pieces :)

    Reading the blogs of other patchworkers, sewists and quilters has been so inspirtional and has provided a community that doesn't always exist. It's great to have online friends supporting and encouraging you through a project when the folks in your everyday life don't really "get" your hobby! It's just fun!

    Only relatively new to patchworking (again) I love reading other blogs - I find it so inspiring. Things like colours put together (Orange and Light Blue) that I wouldn't normally use has inspired a quilt that I have planned.

    i love to scour quilting blogs for patterns that i can give to my 78 year old grandmother who quilts every day. i love giving her new interesting things to work with and it gives us something to do together, even if we just talk about how unique they are.

    They're beautiful, inspiring, there's a sense of community, you can follow along with somebody else's work and feel accomplished for them because you know and appreciate what went into it (non-makers tend to not realize)... and you hope they get the same from your blog.
