WIP: Super Tote!

The lovely Anna who blogs over at noodle-head, recently released this awesome bag pattern. As pictures started popping up online of people's finished super totes, I knew I had to make one for myself. After a quick stop at the LQS, I had all the fabrics picked out and was ready to go!

Keeping in mind, I've actually never really made a bag before (well except for this one) I was a bit nervous. However, Anna did not disappoint and the pattern is written so that even I could figure it out!

I stayed up all night in an effort to get this bag completed by the time I left for my trip to Texas a few weeks back. And I have a confession to make. While I did take this bag with me and used it extensively I actually hadn't really finished the bag!! But I am hoping to finish it this week, so technically it is still a work in progress...and I'll get the inside all finished and show it off when I am finished.

Nina's Spa Trip

I came home last week from Texas to find this in my sewing room:

At first glance you might not find anything wrong with this photo. However there is an important element missing: Nina my Bernina!

Before my panic attack set in and I ran to file a report on my missing Bernina, my husband stepped in, handed me a glass of water and calmly informed me that he sent Nina off to the Bernina Spa for the week. Not only was she going to be cleaned & oiled, but she also was going to get a new UV light so I could see better when we were sewing.

A week later, here is Nina all set up and ready to start sewing (with her new light!)

Best husband ever? I think so!

WIP: City Sampler Part 2

So I've been out of town for the past week and didn't have a chance to sew at all. Needless to say, I didn't make much progress on the WIP front. BUT, I did manage to work a bit on my City Sampler Quilt since I last showed you. It is all basted and ready for quilting. Here's hoping I can finish it soon...although I have 3 papers & 2 midterms due this week...so perhaps after I complete all that fun I can reward myself with a nice finish.

Crushing on Anna Maria Horner

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win Darcy's awesome giveaway of this beautiful Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush line. Not only am I now the proud owner of these beautiful fabrics, but I also get to use this beautiful journal that has graph paper in it -- it is perfect for all my quilt planning!

To say that I was over the moon to win this giveaway is certainly an understatement. I missed out on the chance to buy a lot of these fabrics, so I can't wait to use them...now to find the perfect project!

Anyone have any suggestions?
