WIP: Super Tote!

The lovely Anna who blogs over at noodle-head, recently released this awesome bag pattern. As pictures started popping up online of people's finished super totes, I knew I had to make one for myself. After a quick stop at the LQS, I had all the fabrics picked out and was ready to go!

Keeping in mind, I've actually never really made a bag before (well except for this one) I was a bit nervous. However, Anna did not disappoint and the pattern is written so that even I could figure it out!

I stayed up all night in an effort to get this bag completed by the time I left for my trip to Texas a few weeks back. And I have a confession to make. While I did take this bag with me and used it extensively I actually hadn't really finished the bag!! But I am hoping to finish it this week, so technically it is still a work in progress...and I'll get the inside all finished and show it off when I am finished.

On the Cutting Table

When I came home from my local quilt store with an array of prints in one of my favorite color combos - mustard, navy, raspberry, and light gray - I couldn't wait to start cutting into it. I already have a project in mind for these fun prints and hope to finish it soon. Yes, I know I have a stack of unfinished projects a mile high that I should be working on...but when creativity strikes, you can't ignore it!

WIP Wed!

Happy Wednesday!

Like many of you, I have a ton of unfinished projects that are in desperate need of some love and attention. Therefore I have unofficially dubbed 2013 the year I clean out my unfinished project drawer(s).

The first project I want to work on is my x-marks the spot December quilt for do.good stitches. Here is a rough layout. I'm still waiting for a few blocks so I can piece it together. And I have a fun idea for the back, so I am going to start working on blocks for that. I'm really hoping to have the entire quilt finished by the end of Feb.

The second project that I want to work on (aka finish) is my rainbow strip quilt that the gals from the Quilts for Cancer bee helped me work on last year. I just need to decide on a layout and sew the top together, decide on what I want to do for a back, quilt it, bind it and get it on it's way to helping a cancer patient.Whew! I really want to finish it soon, but my goal is to have it finished by March.

I think that I will just share these 2 projects for now...lets try to be realistic here! =) Linking up to Lee's blog for WIP Wed.

A few finishes...and a WIP

**friendly reminder -- today is the last day to enter the chicopee giveaway! Don't miss out and enter here**

I have been a busy little bee this week -- catching up on all sorts of projects. I managed to finish quilting one of 2 quilts I need to finish for do.good.stitches (a charity quilting group on flickr). I will take better photos when the weather decides to cooperate, but for now this sneak peek will have to do.

Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous about washing it -- although with some suggestions from my lovely instagram friends, I loaded it up in the washing machine with a few color catchers and voila, no bleeding! Thank goodness for online friends!

I've also been trying to piece together a back for my other do.good.stitches quilt, so I spent the afternoon yesterday playing with a few kona charm packs. I am liking how this is turning out - I have a fun idea, but we'll see if I have the time to execute it...and of course it involves a visit to the fabric shop. =)

Finally, I finished my swap item for the Sewing Summit 12 Swap that is hosted on Flickr. I had so much fun coming up with something I think my partner will enjoy...but since she hasn't got it yet I'll only show a sneak peek.

I'll link up to Lee's WIP post...and hope that you ya'all have an excellent holiday!
